You got everything including the creative mind … but not the right printer. Small or home printers are not designed for production jobs plus their ink and toners are expensive… hence manufacturers make lots of money from selling ink and not from selling the actual printers.
You need the right tools to do any job. There are lots of production printers out there and today there are the digital ones the conventional ones. That’s why companies such as Xerox produce big printers such as the DC6060. You must understand the cost per page issue before purchasing any production printer.
Yes… you need to invest some money in purchasing a good production printer … they don’t come cheap.
I advice you visit the sites of companies who make those production printers such as Xerox and Canon and visit their showrooms to see the machines in action also it is very important to attend exhibitions sice you like this job.
My experience: I’ve been in this business for a long time. I use the Xerox DocuColor 12 to do small jobs like the ones you need to do. Not cheap … but you can get a used one for a good price. Quality is excellent and it can take up to 250gms (I use up to 300gms on this machine).
Good luck.
